Quilted Thank You Cards are a series of 10 inch by 10 inch reversible quilts that can lay flat, hang on a wall, or shape into a soft sculpture by how the owner can pull the outside layer through an interior layer via a finished, backside pocket.  By situating the textile as a kind of envelope, the surface becomes perpetually indeterminate--becoming "solid" only when the user tweaks the cloth to get a sense of material balance.  I see each quilted Thank You Card as an alternative way to sculpt a portrait, a mutable body inherently made from many bodies through the use of repurposed cloth.  Quilt Avatars are symmetrical, altered images of sections of the quilted Thank You cards. They represent a force of blobular healing energy whose collective intent is to guide and protect within a troublesome world.
